Neonatal Hepatitis

Neonatal hepatitis can be caused by a number of conditions. Treatment depends upon the underlying cause.

Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH)

There is no proven effective therapy for NASH, although some hepatologists are using drugs that improve the effectiveness of insulin at controlling blood sugar like metformin and pioglitazone.
